The DC Zoning Commission has just approved two new mixed-use zones along Connecticut Avenue that are set to transform our commercial corridor!

The NMU-4/CC1 zone will revitalize the area between Western Avenue and Livingston Street, allowing for vibrant ground-floor retail with residential apartments above, creating a lively atmosphere for the community. Meanwhile, the NMU-4/CC2 zone focuses on the civic site, which will bring plans for a mix of housing and local public facilities, like a library and community center, to fruition!

These zoning changes follow the success of similar initiatives in neighborhoods such as Cleveland Park and H Street NE, enhancing access to services while rejuvenating our local real estate!

The DC Zoning Commission approved map and text amendment applications that would create new mixed-use zones along Connecticut Avenue.
