Most couples think buying one home together is the smartest move.
But sometimes, the smarter strategy is to think one step ahead.
Here’s a strategy that can work for some couples:
✅ One partner buys a home first using an FHA loan or another first-time homebuyer program.
✅ Lives in the home for at least one year to satisfy occupancy requirements.
✅ Later, the home may become a rental property.
✅ If eligible, the second partner may still qualify for first-time homebuyer programs when purchasing the next home together.
Now you could potentially have:
• A primary residence
• An investment property
• Two homes building equity over time
• Additional rental income
Every situation is different, and this strategy isn’t right for everyone. If you’re curious whether it could work for you, send me a DM or reach out through the link in my bio. Let’s build a plan that’s tailored to your goals. 🏡
