“My clients don’t feel like transactions, they feel like partners I advocate for.”

That's how Christina Clayton of Keller Williams Realty Sonoran Living is building her real estate business in Phoenix.

Most agents are juggling multiple escrows, listings, and pipelines at once. Christina isn't there yet, and she's turning that into a clear advantage for first-time buyers who need fast answers, repeated showings, and someone who actually picks up the phone.

Before real estate she was a flight attendant, a caregiver, a driving instructor, and worked in car rental sales. Every role required the same thing: working with people who needed clarity and patience under pressure.

She grew her Instagram and TikTok from 30 followers to a couple thousand by creating content consistently since starting her real estate journey. The business is being built in public, one post at a time.

Her advice to buyers in Phoenix is simple: be prepared before you start. Financing in place, ready to move. In a market growing as fast as the Valley, that preparation is what separates the buyers who get the home from the ones who miss it.

Seth Jarvis left Winnipeg, signed an 8-year deal to stay in Raleigh, and bought a home in the same neighborhood he used to rent in. That is a pretty clean story.

The 24-year-old led the Carolina Hurricanes in goals this season with 32, and Carolina is now in the Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Off the ice, Jarvis put down roots in North Hills with a 5,700 square foot home he bought for $3.2 million. Raleigh has homebuyer programs that can help more people do the same. 🏒

Rod Brind'Amour has been part of the Carolina Hurricanes story for over two decades. He captained the team to their only Stanley Cup in 2006, came back as head coach in 2018, and has led them to the playoffs in every season since. In December 2024, he became the fastest coach to 300 wins in NHL history. Now he has the Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Back in 2018, Brind'Amour listed his North Raleigh home while newly installed as head coach. The 10,285 square foot estate sat on nearly two acres in the gated Bay Leaf Farm community, adjacent to Falls Lake. Saltwater pool, putting green, batting cage, and a Sport Court. He wanted to move closer to the arena as his kids grew up.

That is what planting roots in a city looks like. North Carolina has homebuyer programs that can help more people do the same. 🏒

Sebastian Aho has spent his entire NHL career in Raleigh. The Finnish-born center was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015 and has been their top scorer for years, leading the team this season with 80 points. Now in his first Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Three months after signing an 8-year, $78 million deal to stay in Carolina through 2032, Aho bought a brand new 5,940 square foot home in North Hills, Raleigh for $3.675 million. He and teammate Seth Jarvis are literally neighbors in the same neighborhood.

That is what committing to a city looks like. North Carolina has homebuyer programs that can help more people put down roots too. 🏒

Damon Sorrell has built his mortgage career around a service model that starts before the loan file, the rate quote, or the approval letter. As a mortgage broker with Edge Home Finance serving buyers across Texas, Sorrell focuses on listening first, identifying the buyer’s goal, and staying available as families move through one of the largest financial decisions they will make.

Sorrell’s view of the mortgage business is direct: skill matters, but availability often determines whether buyers and Realtors feel supported. In his market, he believes strong loan officers distinguish themselves by answering the phone, asking the right questions, and keeping the process moving when problems appear.

“Picking up the phone to be available to clients & Realtors asking the right questions, being a problem solver, being an open communicator, consistently under-promising and over-delivering results,” Sorrell said.

De'Aaron Fox spent eight seasons in Sacramento before the Sacramento Kings traded him to San Antonio Spurs in 2025. He signed a 4-year, $223 million extension to stay with the Spurs, and now he is heading to his first NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.

Back in Carmichael, Fox still owns the home where he put down roots during his Kings years. The gated 5,500 square foot estate sits on over an acre with dual primary suites, a centerpiece pool, a gourmet kitchen, and a four-car garage with an EV charger. Quiet, private, and built for a family.

Homeownership gives you the space to build something that is yours. California homebuyer programs can help more people get started. 🏠

Harrison Barnes left Sacramento Kings with an NBA Finals berth and $1.67 million in equity. The 13-year veteran was traded from the Kings to the San Antonio Spurs in 2024, and now he's facing off against the New York Knicks in the Finals.

Before leaving, Barnes sold his 6,600 square foot Arden Oaks estate in Sacramento. Six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a resort-style pool, and a backyard built for entertaining. He bought it in 2019 for $2.63 million and walked away in December 2024 with $4.3 million. Five years of owning put $1.67 million back in his pocket.

That is what homeownership does. California has homebuyer programs that can help you get started sooner than you think. 🏠

Miles McBride has been a New York Knicks since day one. The Cincinnati-born guard was drafted in 2021, won the NBA Cup in 2025, and is now heading to his first NBA Finals with New York.

Off the court, McBride is living in West Chelsea at One High Line, one of the most talked-about buildings in the city. His 1,600 square foot apartment runs $15,500 a month, about a mile from Madison Square Garden. Oak floors, high-end finishes, and a soaking tub. Not bad for a night before a home game.

Renting in New York is one thing. Owning is another. Homebuyer programs exist to help make that possible in one of the toughest markets in the country. 🏀

Mikal Bridges has been one of the most consistent players in the league since being drafted 10th overall in 2018. A two-time All-Defensive Team selection, he's now in his first NBA Finals with the New York Knicks, going up against the San Antonio Spurs.

Off the court, Bridges owned a 7,000 square foot estate in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Five bedrooms, a casita, a pool house, and a four-car garage. He bought it in 2021 and sold it two years later for $6.68 million, walking away with over $600K in profit.

That is what owning does. Homebuyer programs in Arizona can help you get started sooner than you think. 🏠
