After 35 years of dedicated service, Sue Hargreaves is retiring from the Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home and the impact she leaves behind is hard to overstate.
From her early days in social services to her role as Administrator, Sue helped shape a community grounded in care, dignity, and connection. She led through some of the organization’s most challenging moments, including the pandemic and major facility disruptions, always with a steady focus on the residents who call it home.

There’s exciting momentum in the neighborhood: Forbright Bank has officially purchased Chase Tower at 4445 Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase, MD (where they’re already a tenant) and plans to invest in modernizing the building. It’s a strong signal of long-term commitment to Friendship Heights and the surrounding community.

Even more, Forbright is preparing to go public, positioning itself as a growing presence not just locally, but nationally. While JBG will continue managing the property, this marks a meaningful shift and an opportunity to welcome a rising name as both an owner and neighbor.

We look forward to seeing how this next chapter unfolds and we welcome them to the neighborhood.

Bike to Work Day is this Friday, May 15, 2026!

Join thousands of your neighbors for this free, fun event and pedal to work (or part of the way) instead of driving. It’s a great way to kick off your day feeling energized, support healthier habits, ease traffic, and celebrate our region’s expanding bike network.

1. Over 100 pit stops across DC, Maryland, and Virginia with free coffee, snacks, beverages, giveaways, and bike info.

Curator Kirsty Little has selected powerful art by 14 local artists in a variety of media to fill the windows with gripping collections of individual pieces and installation sculpture.

WOW 12 commands the attention of passing pedestrians and cars, drawing them to the window displays of art to view this dynamic display of the creativity of neighbourhood artists. This is a novel approach to exhibiting art. The shore windows are open for viewing 24/7, well lighted and accessible to all. It provides a new way to enjoy art without restrictions.

This is the 13th show in the series of WOW art exhibitions. Thanks to the Donahue Company and ChevyChaseArt.org for their sponsorship.

From July 6–Sept. 6, 2026, Metro will be completing major construction on the Red Line. During this time, trains will not operate between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights.

🚌 Free shuttle buses will replace train service at:

• Medical Center
• Bethesda
