In 1940, 11 Paynes (my own Payne family!) lived in the house just behind and left of the street light. Brookie, Chick and Barry were young. William Waugh Payne was the head of the house. Florrie, Randolph, and Laura were not accounted for the day the census taker came. That would have put the count up to 14. (Elsie had died in 1918).

In 1940, 48% of young people (18-29 yrs) lived with at least one parent.

In 2019, 52% of young people (18-29 yrs) lived with at least one parent.
