Some places stay with you.
For Stacy, that place has always been Assateague Island.
She grew up making annual trips from upstate New York with her family—camping, visiting the Maryland beaches, and watching the wild horses with her mom, dad, and brother.
Life eventually took her west. She built a career, a business, and a family in Idaho. But Assateague remained her happy place.
This year, Stacy and her mom planned another camping trip. A few months before they arrived, she called me with an idea:
Maybe it was finally time to look for a place of her own nearby.
I drove down from DC and spent the day with Stacy and her mom touring homes around Bayside and Berlin.
As we worked through the options, I reminded her of something that had become obvious:
This is your happy place.
Stacy closed on a four-bedroom home at 8695 Egret Loop Lane—close to Assateague, the Maryland beaches, Berlin’s restaurants and shopping, and all of Ocean City’s attractions, with enough space for the entire family.
Now the place that holds so many memories of her childhood can become part of Leah and Colton’s story too.
Some homes are about square footage.
Some are about investment.
And some are about creating a place your family will want to return to again and again.

I didn’t start as a real estate agent.

I started as a guy who figured something out about real estate — and started sharing it with the people I cared about.

Friends who were renting when they didn’t have to be. Colleagues who had the income to own but didn’t know where to start. People who were crushing it professionally but hadn’t built any financial foundation.

My daily Starbucks order: an iced venti matcha latte with coconut milk and no added syrup.

Yes, the order is specific—and yes, they know me. 😂

For me, it’s more than an afternoon pick-me-up. It’s a small pause in the middle of a busy day: a familiar routine, a reason to step away for a few minutes, and something simple I genuinely enjoy.

We spend so much time working toward major goals that it’s easy to overlook the small things that make everyday life better.

Not every reward has to be extravagant. Sometimes it’s your favorite drink, a walk around the neighborhood, a good playlist, or a few uninterrupted minutes to yourself.

Build the future you want—but remember to enjoy your life while you’re building it.

Batting practice reminded me of something I already knew—but occasionally forget:
You’re not going to connect with every pitch.
Sometimes you swing too early. Sometimes you hesitate. Sometimes life throws something you weren’t prepared for.
But you reset, adjust, and step back into the box.
That applies to business, relationships, health, and almost every major decision we make.
