Last week, we celebrated a significant milestone: the ribbon-cutting of Park Morton Apartments! This beautiful 142-unit, fully affordable community in DC’s Park View neighborhood represents our unwavering commitment to Luxury Affordable Housing® and the families who call it home. The five-story building includes 40 replacement units for returning Park Morton residents, offering studios and one-, two-, and four-bedroom apartments to households earning 0-80% of the area median income. Community amenities include a parking garage, fitness center, rooftop lounge, two courtyards, a Kids Hub lounge, a Tech Hub coworking space, a resident lounge, and covered bike storage.

This achievement is the result of persistence, collaboration, and shared purpose, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible co-developers, , and partners at DC Housing Authority (DCHA), , and . This is Phase 1 of a multi-phase redevelopment that will ultimately deliver more than 400 new units across Park Morton and the nearby Bruce Monroe site. Earlier this month, the D.C. Council passed the RENTAL Act, ushering in the most significant reforms to T**A and eviction law in decades. This legislation helps restore fairness and stability to the District’s rental housing system, supporting small housing providers while maintaining critical tenant protections.

Our Founder and CEO, Buwa Binitie, was on hand with industry stakeholders as the Council advanced this important legislation. He has been advocating throughout the year to ensure that landlords, affordable housing developers, and residents all benefit from a more balanced system.
