DoorDash drivers are so dramatic. Yes, I missed the calls. Yes, I didn’t answer the doorbell. That does not suddenly make it okay to dump my food outside and disappear like your job ends the second I don’t respond in thirty seconds. I paid for delivery, not a scavenger hunt on my own front porch. The food is just sitting there on the mat like it got evicted. Drinks sweating, bags leaning over, everything left out in the open like nobody stopped for one second and thought maybe warm food should not be abandoned on cold concrete because somebody missed a phone notification.
And before anybody starts with the “contactless delivery” excuse, spare me. Contactless does not mean brainless. If I’m not answering, maybe knock again. Maybe wait another minute. Maybe use basic judgment before treating somebody’s meal like a package of paper towels. I took the food, went straight into the app, left a one-star review, and requested a refund because at this point I’m tired of people acting like the bare minimum is some kind of luxury service. If your whole attitude is “well I tried once, good luck,” then maybe this is not the line of work for you. Just a scenario but imagine tho
