Denia and I met because she called me off a for sale sign for my first DC listing, a $189,000 condo listing on the corner of 14th and Upshur Streets NW, back in June 2016.
A few months later, I sold her and Joel a fixer-upper in Mount Rainier, MD. Which Joel transformed into such a lovely home with his own two hands. Over the years, Denia entrusted me with many of her friends and family as she knew I would treat them with the same care as I did her and Joel in the search for their family home.
Almost 7 years to the day, Joel and Denia have closed on their first investment property, a one bedroom apartment short sale in Petworth on which they achieved instant equity of somewhere in the $50,000-$75,000 range.
And they’ve got their eyes on more. Perhaps even another few units in the same building. Clients like these who over the years have become friends, make me proud of them, and of what I do. Knowing their story, where they come from, how much they came to this country with, and now to see them building a portfolio creating generational wealth is incredibly humbling and gratifying. Can’t wait to see where they take this newfound excitement and vision for the future.
