Record Breaking 2017! Poised for a successful 2018! I just finished crunching the numbers and Gausman Appraisals was responsible for more than 1570 reports in the DC area last year! We appraised all 1570+ homes and delivered honest and accurate reporting to the best clients in the industry! That is record setting! We are grateful for the work, grateful for the trust you place in us and we are grateful for another year to do it all again! Thank you!!

Spring. The time of year when you are excited to be done with cold, dark mornings. You can make earlier appointments and not freeze waiting for agents to show up or homeowners to answer the door at the precise minute your appt is for. MLS photos match the season and your workload doubles so you start thinking about vacations again! The downside is you can no longer hide your "outfit" aka pajamas under the long parka you wore all winter. Values are sky-rocking yet your best comps are from December and you can't find justification for any value 50k over list price. And all values seem to be over list. Spring. Love it. Hate it.

Q: Should agents meet the appraiser at an inspection?
A: No - thank you. But if you must let's set some rules: Please don't follow me around like I'm going to steal something. Let me go upstairs all by my big girl self. Please don't get in front of me - I'm taking pictures. You know I'm taking pictures. Please don't hand me "active" listings as Comps. They aren't Comps. And please don't ask me if I know the neighborhood. Yes - I know the neighborhood. I'm actually really good at my job - I expect you to be really good at yours. Doing these things would help me know that you are.
