There’s something about the energy at that always feels like a mini-vacation tucked into the middle of a busy DC week. Sun shining or a little chill in the air—it’s my go-to spot for a quick “tropical” escape right here at The Wharf.

And if you’ve ever run into me here, you already know my order is completely non-negotiable: the Café con Leche. The only real question is hot or iced. Some mornings call for that cozy, steamy cup… other days the iced version just hits differently. Either way, that signature Cuban sweetness? Absolute perfection every single time.

Of course, mornings are even better when Coco gets to tag along. The Wharf has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a “work” walk with a view—coffee in hand, pup by my side, and a little water breeze to start the day.

After three decades of living, working, and building a life in Washington, DC, it feels like much more than expertise. It’s a deep-rooted understanding of the city’s pulse.

Over the years, I’ve explored the distinct textures of this city—from the familiar cobblestones of Georgetown and the vibrant sidewalks of Logan Circle to the historic brick-lined streets of Capitol Hill. One of my favorite annual holiday traditions… the Holiday Lights Run — OG edition. And wow, definitely the coldest in at least 15 years, but absolutely worth every frosty breath. ❄️
We bundled up and hit all the classics: ✨ Capitol Building glowing against the night ✨ Union Station’s wreath magic  ✨ The US Botanic Garden (sadly closed, but still a must-pass!)  ✨ A quick stop at my forever favorite — the Canadian Embassy  ✨ Caroling, gingerbread magic, and festive cocktails at the Willard

And this year’s new additions: 🎄 Downtown DC Holiday Market  🎄 CityCenter’s sparkling canopy  🎄 The Wharf — featuring not one but two “trees” (the barrel tree + the nautical beauty)

Huge thanks to for being our unofficial team photographer — truly the MVP of the night. And while and I may have missed helping set the Guinness World Record for kissing under the mistletoe, we did get this fab pic… so I’m calling it a win.

Nothing beats running through the city with friends, soaking in the holiday sparkle, and feeling that unique joy that only DC delivers this time of year.

The DC market is hyper local — and that means whether you’re buying or selling, working with a realtor who actually listens and understands your goals is a must. Regardless of the market conditions, staying calm, confident, and informed is your biggest advantage.
Here’s what I share with my clients (and what top agents across the country are doing too):

Tips for Buyers & Sellers • Think long-term. Block out the noise — especially those dramatic headlines. • Always have a Plan A... B… and maybe even a C. • Trust the data, not the drama. Let your agent help you decode it. • And don’t forget self-care — this process can be emotional.

For Buyers • Get pre-approved early (your future self will thank you). • Move fast when it’s right, and stay flexible when it’s not. • Focus on must-haves, not perfection.

For Sellers • Price right from the start — the market decides the value. • Use a smart marketing strategy (I’m partial to Compass’s three-phase approach). • Control what you can — staging, curb appeal, repairs — they matter. • Consider incentives if needed — win-win is the goal.
