You don’t have to be on stage to grow. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs happen from being in the room.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend Virginia Cup 2026, the grand finale pitch competition hosted by Innovate757.

As an entrepreneur, I wasn’t there just to watch—I was there to learn.

Listening to founders present their ideas, hearing the judges’ questions, and observing how entrepreneurs communicate their vision was an invaluable experience. Every pitch offered a lesson in storytelling, strategy, and resilience.

Having recently participated in my own pitch competition, attending Virginia Cup gave me a new perspective on how I can continue refining the way I present Compass & Code Collective. Every opportunity to learn brings me one step closer to the next stage.

Success isn’t just about winning competitions—it’s about continuously investing in yourself, building relationships, and staying in environments that challenge you to think bigger.

Thank you to Innovate757 for creating a space where entrepreneurs can connect, learn, and be inspired. Congratulations to all of the founders who took the stage and shared their vision.

The journey continues, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Today was about more than RVs—it was about showing up for our community. 💚

Compass & Code Collective was honored to support SASS Fest (Sexual Assault Survivor Support Festival) by sponsoring two RVs to help make the event a success.

One RV was opened to the public for tours, giving attendees an opportunity to experience our hospitality firsthand. The second served behind the scenes as a logistics hub and wardrobe space for the fashion show, helping ensure everything ran smoothly for the organizers and participants.

We’re proud to support events that create safe spaces for healing, education, empowerment, and connection. As a business, we believe our impact extends beyond providing exceptional RV experiences—we’re committed to using our resources to strengthen the communities we serve.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, volunteers, survivors, performers, vendors, and everyone who made SASS Fest such a meaningful event. It was an honor to be part of something with such an important mission.

Together, we can create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

💚 Thank you for allowing Compass & Code Collective to be part of your journey. Myra Nakesha Smith-Jones Nic Hatcher

Some days still feel like a fever dream.

Today, I checked in on one of our guests staying in The Flagship. They’re not on vacation—they’re professional horse trainers in Maryland for a two-month event, and it’s an honor that Compass & Code Collective gets to play a small part in supporting their work.

Moments like this remind me how far this journey has come.

Not long ago, this business existed only as an idea—a vision fueled by long nights, calculated risks, and the belief that if I kept showing up, one day it would become something real.

Today, our RVs aren’t just creating family vacations—they’re supporting professionals on extended assignments, helping businesses operate, and giving people a comfortable place to call home while they’re away. That’s incredibly rewarding.

Entrepreneurship isn’t glamorous every day. It’s solving problems, building relationships, adapting quickly, and staying committed to excellence. Every booking is another opportunity to serve someone well and prove that the little details matter.

A special thank you to Matt “The Camper Guy” for quickly repairing the power box on our client’s RV and helping ensure their stay continued without interruption. Having dependable partners like you allows us to deliver the level of service our clients deserve.

Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself that I’m living a dream I once only imagined.

Keep building.
Keep serving.
Keep believing.

The vision becomes reality one client, one partnership, and one day at a time.
