We’ve just returned from delivering all of the donations dropped off at Coldwell Banker to the men’s shelter and we are truly grateful for the generosity shown by our community. We thank Ashely O’Neal Gregory for picking up the women’s donations.

If you are still planning to help, we ask that donations now be more focused on the following much-needed items for the men’s shelter:
• Pillows
• Coats
• Toiletries
• Underwear
• Socks
We have received an abundance of blankets and sleeping bags, so those items are no longer a priority.

Darwin Woolard extends his sincere thanks to everyone for your compassion and support. He is currently working to open a permanent kitchen on Route 17, which will replace the food truck they have been using. Once the kitchen is operational, the shelter will be able to offer classes, support meetings, and some healthcare services at that location.

A wonderful thing has happened, there is an outpouring of support for collecting needed items for the men's and women's shelters.

The items being collected are: blankets, coats, sleeping bags, tobaggans (that is a knitted cap for all the northerners out there) and toiletries.
For the women's shelter they don't need clothes but are in need of latex free gloves, clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper and paper towels.
Gift cards to Walmart or Amazon.

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage - Eastern Carolina has signed up to be a collection point. Anything that is dropped off will be put in my office and I will get it to the correct people.

Thank you for considering to help with this effort. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Martin Luther King's Day.
