This weeks ghost story is about the McLean house.

Elijah McLean built this house in 1839. It is one of the five oldest buildings located in Washington. McLean was born in Kentucky in 1804. At 6 years old he moved to Missouri with his family. As an adult he went to medical school and became a physician. They say he even treated Daniel Boone at one point. Dr. McLean and his wife and daughter lived on this property as well as many enslaved men and women.

There are many stories here of women mostly the waitresses being pushed. One of the food storage areas is on the lower level of the building and some of the younger girls have said that while going down that staircase they experienced a push on their backs almost making them fall down the staircase.

Have you had any experiences in the Elijah McLean house? We would love for you to leave your story if so! If you don't want to leave a comment we would love still love to hear your story. Please feel free to send us a private message.

🚨❗️🛑 CONSUMER ALERT 🛑❗️🚨

Because we care about you, your finances, and your current (or future) account with Bank of Franklin County, we want to let you know about a concerning proposal taking shape in Washington D.C.

Policymakers have proposed requiring banks to report virtually all their customers’ bank account information and activity regardless of the customers’ consent. We work for you and our community, not the IRS, and believe this is an unnecessary invasion of your privacy.

So, what can you do? LEARN MORE and TAKE ACTION NOW by sending a quick, customizable message to your members of Congress easily through: www.icba.org/bank-locally/consumer-alert-from-icba
