Why yes! We do commercial building inspections! Today's work was a familiar place. I used to mow and landscape here in my younger years. We did structure, electrical, roofing, plumbing and HVAC for a new investor client.

Buyer had not noticed this during their walkthrough and went under contract on the home. When I arrived a few days later for the inspection I noticed the front stoop was settled towards the house which is an indication that the wall behind it could be compromised. Sure enough, it's moved almost a foot inside. This will require extensive repairs probably approaching 30K. This is why you should always get an inspection!! On to save another buyer!

With these below freezing temperatures ahead comes the risk of frozen pipes! Make sure your heat is on and you leave a small trickle of water on any fixtures that are adjoining an outside wall to reduce the risk of freezing and bursting. Also don't forget to check those vacant houses! Heat on, water off!

Let's talk about mold! One of the most common things we find during inspections is Mold. It comes in many different colors and types. Mold can make you sick, cause allergies and other health issues and some molds are even deadly to humans. The only way to know if you have a mold issue is to get a mold inspection. We can do them standalone or as part of your general home inspection. I am IAC2 Certified Indoor air consultant offering both mold surface and air quality testing and have been working in the industry for almost 15yrs. The good news? It's treatable and can be cleaned/removed giving you back a healthy home. Don't let a moldy house ruin your wallet or your health.
