Owning an older home has its pluses but it also has its quirks. A couple years ago our pipes froze. It was scary. I called my dad. (Yes like they do in the TikTok videos. 😂) We luckily unfroze the pipe and learned a few preventative measure in the process.

1. Drip your faucets on a mix of hot and cold.

2. We also open up the cabinet under our kitchen sink to make sure it gets heat flow. (It sits on the exterior wall)

3. If your pipe does freeze find the spot as quick as possible and you can use a hair dryer to heat it. (It takes a while but it worked in a pinch.)

With all the crazy weather in our lovely state this year I figured I would post this.
These are the two disasters thus far that are recognized for repair help by FEMA. You can fill out an application on the link below for help with repairs. It is a pretty swish and flick application and you have until February to file. If you have any questions regarding it feel free to reach out.
