Tiffany Masse-Central Maine Realtor

Tiffany Masse-Central Maine Realtor I help make buying and selling homes in Central Maine fun, laid back and organized. Hi, I'm Tiffany. I knew I’d hit my ceiling. So I did it.

At my age, with two kids, I never thought I’d ever
consider changing careers. After all, I’d always loved my career as
a hairstylist... until I found myself daydreaming of not being one. It
never occurred to me that I would ever leave a career that
defined who I was since I was 20. I
stayed the last few years for my clients. Not only did they count
on me to do their hair every month but some came

to see me to
be in my chair for other reasons. A lot of my clients were with me
from the beginning of my career. Most watched me trudge
through some pretty heavy stuff to become the woman and
mother I am today. So, not only was I feeling the guilt of
abandoning them but I was afraid to leave the comfort of the
people who already knew me. Unfortunately, along the way of doing something I once loved my whole life I knew I’d lost my spice for it. When I finally decided I was going to leave my career most of my clients gave me their blessings. It took
me a bit to build up the courage to dive into real estate. I had always been intrigued and interested in it so
I knew the passion was there. But sometimes that pesky self doubt snuck in. I'm thankful everyday that
both my husband and my kids never once questioned what in the world I was doing, even when I did. Instead of them feeling as anxious as I was, they were proud of me. I started the journey towards a new career. A career that I love and challenges my brain in a
way that I was craving. I’ve realized along the way that Real Estate has a lot of the same qualities that
being a hairstylist did. People just want to be heard and listened to. Making that decision to step outside my comfort zone was scary and uncomfortable. Once I decided it
was ok to do something for myself it felt so refreshing. Real Estate isn’t only showing pretty houses. Real estate is so much more. It’s getting to know families,
finding out what they need and helping them get there. I understand how stressful it is to pack up a house
full of memories. Easing some of that stress for a family is my new spice.

Lately I’ve been talking to a lot of Central Maine homeowners who all say some version of the same thing… they’re not ready to move, but they’ve definitely been thinking about it.

Most of the time they’ve been in their home for 10, 15, even 20 years. They like where they live, nothing is necessarily wrong, but something about it just doesn’t feel like the right fit anymore and they can’t quite put their finger on why.

What ends up happening is they look at a few homes, start to picture something different, and then close out of it because it feels like too big of a leap or they don’t even know what the first step would be. So it just keeps getting pushed off.

It’s not really about being ready. It’s usually about not having a clear picture yet.

Once you actually know what your home could realistically sell for and what your options might look like from there, it gets a whole lot easier to figure out whether moving makes sense or if staying put is the better move for now.

If this has been on your mind at all, you don’t have to commit to anything to start getting answers. I’m always happy to walk through it with you so you can at least see what it could look like before making any decisions.

This one stuck with me a little.

She lived here for 50 years… which is just wild when you really think about it.

Lately I feel like I’ve been helping a lot of sellers do the same thing she’s doing, packing up and heading somewhere warmer (and I really don’t blame them 😄).

You could feel how well this home had been loved the second you walked in. Just one of those places that you can feel it in the walls.

And now a young family gets to move in and make it theirs, which I love.

I’ve been noticing this quiet shift lately.

People leaving Maine for a different pace or warmer weather… and at the same time, people coming in ready to build a life here.

It’s a pretty cool thing to be part of.

Taylor and Nick originally reached out a couple months ago with a plan.

Get married this summer… then start house hunting.

I suggested getting pre-approved early, just so we knew what we were working with, and set them up with a search in the meantime.

Well… a house popped up in the exact location they had been hoping for.

They went to see it just to “get a feel” for the market.

And immediately fell in love.

We put together a strong offer they felt really good about…
but it wasn’t accepted.

And honestly, that could’ve been the end of the story.

But about a week later, I got a call from the listing agent. The original buyers got cold feet… and the seller had one question:

“Are Taylor and Nick still interested?”

The answer was a very easy YES!

From late-night negotiations to staying organized and on top of everything… these two were seriously so great to work with.

Being part of this one felt extra special and just one of those moments where you can’t help but think… this one was meant to be.

Congratulations to Nick & Taylor 🤍

I don’t think little Tiff would believe it if she could see me now🥹

I didn’t know I’d grow up to be someone people trust with one of the biggest decisions of their lives. But man, I’m so grateful I did🤍

There’s so much to think about once you know you want to move.

What will we do with all of our stuff?
Are we making the right choice?
How are we going to get the house ready?
Will the kids be okay?
Does this make sense financially?

The list of should we’s and what ifs can feel endless.

But every now and then, it also feels really good to let yourself think about the other side of it. How good it’s going to feel. How right it might actually be.

Both things can be true.🤎

Selling in Central Maine usually feels hard long before price is even part of the conversation.

Most homeowners I talk to already know where they’d go next. What slows things down is timing, the logistics of moving, and whether making a change will actually make life easier or just add stress.

That pause doesn’t mean someone is unsure or stuck. It usually means there’s a lot to think through, and people want to make sure they’re not rushing into something that doesn’t really fit.

That’s often where the real work starts — talking it through before anything feels rushed.

Might be worth chatting about🤎

Sometimes people stay in their homes not because it’s the best fit anymore, but because it feels familiar.

They know the house. The payment. The routines.
Moving feels like a lot, so staying feels easier.

I talk to a lot of homeowners who aren’t unhappy , they’re just unsure. And when you’re unsure, it’s easy to put off thinking about it altogether.

Staying can be the right move.
So can exploring something different.

The important part is being intentional instead of staying by default.

Overpricing your house feels like the safer choice. I understand why.

If you’ve owned your home for a long time, you’ve built equity and you don’t want to undersell it. That instinct makes sense.

What I see happen, though, is quieter than most people expect.

When a home comes on the market priced too high, the first week goes by and buyers hesitate. Showings slow. The conversation shifts from excitement to questions.

“Why hasn’t it moved yet?”
“What are we missing?”

Once that happens, it’s harder to regain momentum.

The strongest sales I see in Central Maine don’t start high and adjust later. They start with thoughtful pricing and a clear plan from day one.

If selling is somewhere on your radar and you want to talk through what makes sense for your situation, I’m always happy to have that conversation. No pressure. Just a thoughtful place to start.

If you’ve thought about selling, what feels harder right now, choosing a price or knowing where to start?

If you bought your house in Central Maine before 2018, you probably remember how big that decision felt.

Running the numbers.
Writing the offer.
Hoping you were making the right move.

Fast forward about 10 years… and life looks different now.

The house that worked when the kids were little might feel tight.

Or maybe it feels too big.

Or maybe you’re just tired of maintaining it.

I’ve had a lot of quiet conversations lately that start with, “We’re not ready to sell… we’re just thinking.”

And honestly, that’s the right place to start.

Sometimes the right move is staying.

Sometimes it’s not.

I just don’t love when people stay because it feels easier than looking at their options.

If you bought before 2018 and that thought has crossed your mind, send me a message.

I’d love to talk it through with you.
