Creativity often gets treated like a skill you either have or don’t, instead of something you just need the right environment to try. That’s what WILDISH clay classes are for. Clay and tools brought right to your space — that’s all people need to start.

It is the part I enjoy most about WILDISH studio. Not the finished pieces, but watching someone quiet the voice that tells them they can’t, and realize they’re capable of making a piece of art all their own.

Before and after of the kitchen at Re*****on House.

We took it down to the studs and rebuilt it completely. Cabinets, flooring, walls, all of it, until it was just framing, insulation, and wiring.

We knew we wanted a kitchen made for slow mornings and relaxed dinners, with an open feel and space for two to be cooking at the same time.

With that in mind, we chose sage green shaker cabinets with black hardware to bring the green of the trees inside. We topped them with dark stained butcher block and added a matte black farmhouse sink with a copper pull-down faucet.

We kept the walls soft white and added open shelves with black brackets, so the mugs, bowls, and coffee supplies stay within reach and on display. New flooring runs through the space with a runner to bring that warmth.

Each detail in this kitchen was intentional, and we’re always thinking about how to make it even cozier.

Clay doesn’t rush.

There’s a version of this where you force the shape — hands too fast, too hard, chasing what you think it should be. And then there’s this: a smooth pull of clay timed well with the speed of the wheel, allowing the clay to guide me, and become what it wants to be.

Most days we’re building a brand, a website, a schedule. Then there’s are days like this — messy hands, clay, water, and a wheel.

That’s the pace we always want to come back to at Wildish.

We are in downtown Waupaca at Huck & Finn-Waupaca, WI for our next clay class.

Thursday, October 15, come connect with clay. During this class you will be guided through pottery techniques that allow you to create a fall decor item of your choosing. Whether that is a candle holder, wall hanging, etc.

You will be provided with all the clay and tools to complete your piece of art, glaze to select, and drinks to enjoy during the class.

Following the class your pieces will be fired and glazed with the color of your choosing.

Your finished piece will be available for pick up at Huck and Finn three weeks later.

As we come up on our 1 year anniversary of owning Re*****on House, we thought it was about time we introduced the family behind the home and WILDISH brand.

Starting with Allison and Dan — the humans behind WILDISH.

Allison is the dreamer, creative director, interior designer, and pottery instructor. Dan brings all the remodeling concepts to life, handles the contractors, and is the brains behind all things home related. Together we are creating a brand that we are truly proud of and love to share others.

We are so happy to have you on this journey with us and to be able to share our passion projects with you.

As we come up on our 1 year anniversary of owning Re*****on House, we thought it was about time we introduced the family behind the home and WILDISH brand.

Officially Introducing Remi (golden) and Ranger (chocolate lab) - the pups behind WILDISH.

Both pups spend long hours keeping us company while we work through projects. They stay up late with Allison in the pottery studio and wake up early with Dan for house projects. They travel to and from Re*****on House, doing their best to keep their humans calm when things don’t quite go to plan. They are the cutest models and we wouldn’t be WILDISH without them.

They highly recommend hanging out by the windows in the primary bedroom of Re*****on House to watch wildlife and take naps in the sun.
