Good info to keep in mind - most of us run a dehumidifier in our basement, especially this summer! Check to make sure your dehumidifier has not been recalled! Safety first!!

The photo below shows the remains of a dehumidifier which caused a basement fire earlier this month in Racine. The reason for showing this is to remind everyone to make sure your dehumidifier has not been recalled due to fire concerns.

There are a few ways to check your dehumidifier to see if it is included in this recall. The most comprehensive list can be found at the Consumer Products Safety Commission website https://www.cpsc.gov/

Use the search bar at the top right of the page and enter the manufacturer and model of your unit followed by "recall". The model number is typically located on a sticker at the rear of the unit.

If yours is included in the recall stop using the unit and unplug it immediately!!

Follow the CPSC website for instructions on how to be reimbursed.
