Are You Prepared For An Emergency For You And Your Whole Family?

For the last several days, all the meteorologists from California to New York have been warning us about the severe tornado watches and torrential rain bombs that will be affecting most of the states. Almost all of the meteorologists were trying to prepare all of us for what could be a serious emergency due to weather that got me thinking!

Do you have a grab and go bag for each member of your family? Think it’s a waste of time…? Think. again if your house burns to the ground or a tornado sweeps through your house and it’s gone in a moment. Emergency services may not get to you for days, this a emergency grab and go bag is a must!

What do you need in your bag depending on the members of your family at least one large backpack for each member of your family or you can buy preassembled grab and go bags or backpack. It’s really up to you whether you want to do it yourself or not. Here are some of the suggestions that you should have in this bag.

Each member of your family should have the following:

Phone fully charged with a charger
Water for at least seven days dry food . You can just add hot water to like oatmeal or process noodles and you could have a meal from that alone. Should have clothing for several days and including underwear, jeans, sweater or coat.

You should have a emergency first aid kit, at least one in the car I strongly suggest that you have a fireproof small case with a handle and lock that you can just grab the last minute that includes your important papers, such as insurance papers, your marriage certificate, you will, insurance, homeowners insurance, etc. now you can scan all of these, but if you don’t have access to a computer during your emergency, it’s gonna be hard to get those papers A fireproof safe that you can grab and carry. A variety of protein bars and protein shakes might not be a bad idea either. Please look at the link below for some preassembled grab and go bags are available too. Everyone be safe out there.

Housing Market Predictions For 2024: When Will Home Prices Be Affordable Again?

Thanks primarily to an unexpected rise in mortgage rates, which exacerbated affordability challenges, the spring home-buying season has yet to spring to life.

Though newly built home sales are thriving, sales of existing homes, which comprise the lion’s share of the housing market, have stagnated. On the bright side, tepid demand for existing homes is helping boost the country’s low housing supply.

Meanwhile, the home purchasing process edged closer to a colossal shift. In April, a judge preliminarily approved the landmark $418 million real estate broker commissions settlement centering on the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The new rules mandating significant changes to the industry’s long-standing buying and selling model will begin in July.

Housing Market Forecast for 2024

The further rise of already-elevated mortgage rates and home prices in the past few weeks amid a prolonged inventory shortage has dampened the hopes of many prospective buyers.

Yet, despite ongoing affordability hurdles, Fannie Mae forecasts an increase in home sales transactions compared to last year. Experts also anticipate a slower increase in home prices over the course of 2024 compared to recent years. However, price fluctuations will continue to vary regionally and depend strongly on local market supply.

Meanwhile, U.S. home prices posted an annual 6.4% gain in February—the eighth consecutive month of year-over-year increases and the fastest annual rate since November 2022—according to the latest S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index. Home prices are at or near all-time highs.

Despite the recent run-up in mortgage rates, the month-over-month home price index rose by a robust 0.6%. By comparison, month-over-month index gains averaged 0.2% between 2015 and 2019, according to Selma Hepp, chief economist at CoreLogic. from Forbes Advisor
