Ever ask a Realtor why they got into real estate?
Odds are they answer with "I love looking at homes" or something along those lines...
And while I do love interior design and architecture, I actually got into real estate for a different reason. After decades of babysitting and then being a professional nanny I had been able to observe, on a very intimate level, just how someone's home impacts how they live.
Perhaps that is why I am SO dang principled when it comes to home inspections - I understand that I am not just getting someone a home, I am helping facilitate the purchase of the background of their life, and making a bad investment can alter that future so deeply.
For years I watched families gather in their kitchens on a random Tuesday, I watched as they prepared for a fancy dinner party, or as they played catch outside in the yard. Each interaction impacted by where they lived. I realized that the home is not just an asset but rather a member of the family, even if you live alone, your home still impacts your life daily.
I love being able to get to know people on a deep level, working to understand which type of home and where will best fit their life today and in the future. So if you ask me what I got into real estate, my answer is because I cherish the ability to help people create their future.
Which is why my slogan "your future starts at home" holds so much weight to me.
