☀️ SUMMER CLEANING: GET YOUR HOME READY FOR FALL! 🍂🏡

Before the temperatures start dropping, summer is the perfect time to give your home a refresh and knock out a few seasonal cleaning projects!

Swap out your wardrobe
Pack away those summer clothes and bring out the sweaters, jackets and other cold-weather favorites. It’s also a great time to donate anything you didn’t wear this summer!

Deep clean the kitchen
Go beyond the everyday wipe-down! Clean the inside of the oven, microwave and refrigerator, wipe down cabinets, tackle the pantry and give those appliances some extra attention.

Wash windows & screens
Get rid of all that summer dust and grime while the weather is still nice. Clean windows and screens now so your home is ready for those colder months when you’ll want to keep everything closed up!

Refresh the bedrooms
Swap lightweight summer bedding for warmer blankets, comforters and flannel sheets. While you're at it, wash pillows, mattress covers and blankets that may have been sitting in storage.

✨ BONUS TIP: Don't forget those often-overlooked spots—ceiling fans, baseboards, light fixtures, vents and behind furniture!

MOVING DAY HACKS THAT WILL SAVE YOU TIME & HEADACHES! 🏠

Moving can feel overwhelming, but a few simple tricks can make unpacking SO much easier! Here are some of our favorite moving-day hacks:

🎨 Color-code your rooms!
Assign each room a color and put that color on every box going into that room. You can even put matching colored signs on the doors so movers know exactly where everything goes!

🧳 Use suitcases for heavy items!
Books, canned goods, small appliances and other heavy items can make boxes miserable to carry. Put them in your rolling suitcases instead and let those wheels do the work!

👚 Keep clothes on the hangers!
Don't waste time taking everything off the hangers and folding it into boxes. Group hanging clothes together, slide a garbage bag over them with the hangers sticking out the top, and you've got an easy-to-carry wardrobe bundle that's ready to go straight into the closet!

👜 Pack an overnight bag!
Pretend you're going away for a night or two and pack the essentials you'll need right away—clothes, toiletries, medications, chargers, important documents, snacks and anything else you don't want to dig through 30 boxes to find. Keep this bag with you!

📦 Label BOTH the top and sides of boxes.
You'll thank yourself later when boxes are stacked and you can still see what's inside.

The countdown is almost over! Tomorrow, the gates officially open for the Iowa State Fair, and you know what that means… 🚜🐄🎶🍦🎠
