We could all be complaining about our houses being in flood water up to the first floor or our car being totally ruined or washed away-vs- tomato plants being snapped off or pepper plants being scorched or entire garden flooded. Plants are easier to replace than homes, vehicles,businesses or memories. Be thankful for what you have and especially for those people you have when things look bad.

We had 2 nice showers the past 2 nights. The lightening released nitrogen which is always welcome.
I picked a 1/2 peck of nearly ripe tomatoes, to finish on the counter. About a dz. Hungarian wax peppers also . Those 2 items get temp frozen for building a big pot of Mom's Hungarian Hot sauce.
One surprise eggplant will be eggplant parmesan in a day or 2. I only planted 1 eggplant so I'm already pleased.😊
Replanted little raised bed with mixed salad, basil and buttercrunch lettuce. Hope to continue eating fresh salad through fall. Thanks to Cindy and Jeremy Bucher for the raised bed at waist height!
Not bad for 4 raised beds ( 2'x4' ea) and little salad bed 18"x 30" !

No danger of parasites, ecoli etc from our garden raised multi type salad greens. We have cherry tomatoes and a few small snap peas and onions to add to the dish. Although I can eat this produce as I pick it, I did wash it all after picking and stored in frig for supper. A couple hard boiled eggs and a tuna salad sandwich sounds like cool eating for a hot day.
