The price for all plants, seeds etc is absurd !!! I changed my plans and methods to late. All my methods and experiences my be a lost cause at this point in my life. Good luck trying to establish major changes in our chances for peaceful, healthy or sane living in the coming years! It's not looking good for Earth or her inhabitants over the next 50 years. Trump is just one of the obvious problems.

For decades, I just accepted that if you wanted a proper harvest of bush beans for the freezer, you had to surrender half your garden beds to them. They're sprawling little space-hogs. And before you say it — no, pole beans aren't the answer. In a three-foot footprint, you can only squeeze in about 20 pole beans. Last summer, I decided to try something entirely backward. I ignored conventional wisdom and found a way to pack 60 bush bean plants into just three square feet of space. The yield has been frankly ridiculous, it saves my aging knees, and I’ve finally got my raised beds back for other things. It takes a slightly different approach to watering, a good layer of pine flake mulch, and one specific piece of equipment I wish I'd found years ago. I'm never growing them the traditional way again.
