On November 7, Ryan’s Renegades will climb 1,500 stairs at Lincoln Financial Field while carrying an 80-pound sandbag during the CF Climb—all to raise awareness and support in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

On August 22, I’ll complete a 26.2-mile ruck carrying 65 pounds—representing “65 Roses,” a symbol of the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The date marks 14 years since we lost our twin boys and later learned that Jackie and I were both CF carriers. Then, on June 3, 2023, we welcomed Ryan naturally. Five days later, he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

We were devastated—but we soon learned how decades of determined fundraising, research, and advocacy had transformed life with CF. Because other families carried the fight before us, Ryan has opportunities that previous generations never had.

Now it’s our turn to pick up the baton.

Every mile will honor our twins. Every pound will represent the CF fight. Every step will move us closer to a cure.

26.2 miles.
65 pounds.
65 Roses.
One mission: a cure for all.

To me, this football symbolizes grit, hope and never giving up. After Boomer’s son, Gunnar, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, his family turned fear into a mission that has helped change countless lives.

Jerry Cahill is another true CF hero. He has exceeded the life expectancy his family was originally given and continues to coach, advocate and inspire others. As Ryan’s father, Jerry’s story gives me hope. I pray Ryan and I can meet him one day.

Training today with a 95 lb load as I prepare for my 26.2-mile marathon carrying 65 lbs on August 22 to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

any shot I can get a new pair of 14's ? These 95lb rucks are smashing these !

And thank you GORUCK for the 20 lb Achilles vest. Being able to move with the weight distributed on my body instead of a rigid plate lets me actually breathe while training.

We can take the weight off. They can’t.
The cure will be their day.

Our house gets about 5 minutes of calm each day. The rest is pure movement, laughter, wrestling, carpet slides, and memories.

I was blessed with an amazing father but it was an added bonus to gain an amazing father-in-law.

When I first started dating Jackie, I remember Jackie asking me if I was visiting for her or to see her dad. I could spend hours just talking with him at the kitcjen table about life and work. His life was what I admired most
 simple ,work hard, raise a great family, and laugh a lot.

My favorite line with him was, “You can’t bu****it a bu****itter.” That pretty much summed up our relationship.

May God grant you eternal rest. You will be greatly missed, especially by your grandsons. And as an Irishman, he was always proud that somehow he could get darker than an Italian (me)at the beach. ☘

It's amazing to see this little boy with so much energy! He has cystic fibrosis and with Trikafta from he is able to run and play as if he didn't have CF! We're not stopping over here until there is a cure
