📍The bill was introduced; if passed changes will take effect in 2026

Growing up on Section 8 housing - there are families that no doubt NEED the rental assistance. This includes people on fixed incomes, the elderly, veterans and disabled.

Then there is the other side of it - the ones that exploit the program - have it for decades - refuse to get to pursue full-time employment (so they won’t lose their Section 8 or see their payout increase).

The ones that abuse the system - leasing BMWs and owning cash side hustles while tax payers (like me) pay the bill.

There will always be two sides to it all. I’m not saying these changes are good by any means - but let’s understand that we are in different times.

📍Real Estate investors: if you have Section 8 tenants, this is the time to start the conversation with them to let them know changes are coming. It’s always best to be prepared! It might be the time to pivot! I know I am!

The government won’t save any of us: you must save yourself!

The outsourcing of tech jobs will continue and these kids graduating college here will have less of a chance to get into the tech space.

Corporations here just want to save on cost. (Labor and taxes). Good for South Africa. Not so good for here.

I need at least 7 full hours. 8 if I’m lucky. Sleep is super important for optimal function. I also believe it’s the difference between looking younger and refreshed (I’m 46). The lack of can certainly age you and cause other health and mental deficiencies.

Ladies, get your rest. Your body will thank you.
