Success looks different to everyone.
In real estate, it’s really easy to get caught up in the awards and accolades. Selling the most homes. Being the top agent in your town. Hitting the next sales number.
And don’t get me wrong, those things are great. They can be awesome goals and motivation. We’re still chasing plenty of them ourselves.
But I’m starting to realize how important it is to enjoy life while it’s actually happening.
Today was one of those days I probably couldn’t have imagined when I first got into real estate, and it’s also the kind of day that’s really easy to overlook.
We had a home inspection in Hillsborough, and instead of divide and conquer like we usually do, Ash and I decided to go together and make a day out of it.
We went to the inspection, grabbed lunch at a restaurant she’s been wanting to try that legitimately felt like we were sitting somewhere in Tuscany, and then spent some time exploring hiking trails in the area that we’ll definitely be coming back to.
Nothing about today is going to show up on a sales report or an awards stage.
But man, these are the days that make the stressful ones, the deals that die, the long hours and the tough clients worth it.
Of course we’re still chasing bigger goals. But I think I’m finally starting to understand what people mean when they say the journey can be better than the destination.
Sometimes success is just realizing you’ve built a life where a random Saturday can look like this.
