Angela Atchison serves as Director of Wayne County Emergency Management. This Agency is tasked with numerous duties and responsibilities ranging from natural disasters to hazardous materials incidents. We focus on preparing our community for emergencies to protect life and property. In cases where disaster strikes, we then mobilize to begin the recovery efforts. Wayne County EMA works hand in hand

on a daily basis with local emergency services including the Wayne County Fire Department, Waynesboro Fire Department, Wayne General Hospital & Ambulance Service, Wayne County Sheriff's Department, Waynesboro Police Department. We also strive to maintain strong working relationships with state and federal agencies such as Mississippi Emergency Management, Federal Emergency Management, Nation Weather Service, American Red Cross, Mississippi State Department of Health, and Salvation Army to name a few.
