What can an almost 1,000-year-old tapestry teach us about decorating today? Quite a bit.

The renewed fascination with the Bayeux Tapestry is also highlighting something designers have long understood: homes feel more interesting when they tell a story.

Antique textiles, embroidery, and handcrafted pieces bring warmth, texture, and personality into a room, especially when paired with clean, contemporary furnishings.

This fall, consider adding something with a little history. The most beautiful spaces are rarely created all at once. They are collected over time.

October is one of the best months to get ahead of winter.

A little seasonal maintenance now can help protect your home when colder weather arrives.

🍁 Clear leaves and yard debris
🌿 Prep landscaping for winter
🚰 Disconnect hoses and winterize outdoor water lines
🔥 Check the fireplace and chimney
🏠 Clean gutters and downspouts
✨ Wash windows and check seals

Think of it as your home’s fall reset before Minnesota winter officially moves in.
