the dining room is close by and seats six comfortably. The kitchen is fully-stocked including a griddle, slow cooker, all sizes of pots and pans, baking tools, bakeware and so much more! A washer and dryer are also accessible on the main floor along with a bathroom. You will find total relaxation in this three-level chalet. Each bedroom boasts its own king-sized bed and the main floor and loft are complete with smart TV’s and cable. The large whirlpool tub is in its own private room just off the master bedroom and lends you a view to the mountain while soaking your stress away. The main level bathroom is just across the hall from the bedroom and features a double sink vanity and a tub/shower combination. Head upstairs to the charming loft suite and the view from this room will make you never want to leave. It features a 32” flat screen TV with cable with a cathedral ceiling. The adjoining bathroom in the loft also has a double sink vanity with shower. The lower level is where the fun happens! Enjoy the 50” Smart TV with cable from the large sectional couch, shoot some pool, try your aim at electronic darts, pick a movie from the DVD library for all ages and just relax. Spend some quality family time playing any of the board games or kick back with one of the books we have. The rustic wet bar features a sink and space for snacks and cocktails. The third king-sized bedroom and bathroom with double sink vanity plus tub/shower combination are also found on this level. Just outside of the lower level, on the deck, you will find a 6-person hot tub, complete with a view of the mountains! Prepare to relax on the main level wrap-around deck that features two covered porches, picnic table and plenty of seating for star gazing and incredible mountain views. You’ll be roughing it in style with the feeling of the mountains, but with all the modern conveniences. Other important amenities include high-speed wifi, high chair, and a Pack ‘N Play (sleeper/playpen for infants). There is a community pond located at the bottom of the hill complete with a fishing pier, with no fishing license required making it convenient for catch and release fishing. There is a community swimming pool with a deli that is managed through a third party company just down the hill. We do not offer pool towels so don’t forget to pack those. Heartland Cabin Rentals and Campfire Lodge are not responsible for maintenance or pool closures. The pool is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day. During the months of November – March, 4-wheel drive and/or chains are required in case of inclement weather. In case you are wondering, the pool offers a gorgeous mountain view too! Campfire Lodge will sleep from two to six people with three king beds. Absolutely NO SMOKING ON ANY OF THE PROPERTY. NO PETS.

What a fun job he has!

🐻 Soda‑can small 🥤

Right now, in the Smokies, black bear moms are beginning to welcome cubs that weigh only 8–12 ounces—about the size of a soda can! These tiny, hairless, cubs stay tucked in the den until April, when they waddle out weighing about—wait for it—5 pounds! (Still smaller than your house cat 🐈).

Most litters in the Smokies have two cubs, but anywhere from 1–5 is possible. Cubs stick with mom for about 18 months, so you might spot last year’s “teenagers” tagging along with their mom too.

Remember:
It’s illegal to approach a bear within 50 yards (150 feet) or disturb them in the park. Give them space—never feed, crowd, or interfere with their natural behavior.

NPS Photo: Ranger Ryan checks a cub’s teeth during a den visit. This visit was part of an ongoing research project. The mother bear was tranquilized so biologists could inspect her tracking collar and download data. While she was sedated, the cubs were weighed, sexed, microchipped, and kept warm in rangers’ coats until the mother was returned to the den.
