Three Granddaughters – Three Bright Futures

As many grandparents know, your grandchildren are the best part of having a family! Susan and I have been blessed with three lovely young ladies.

Clara is pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian, studying at Ross University in St. Kitts, located in the Caribbean.

Taylor is working on her Master's degree in clinical mental health conseling at East Texas A&M.

Rose is completing her Bachelor of Arts in Art and Bechelor of Business Administration in Accounting at Southern Methodist University.

All of them are ready to take on the world with grace and grit. Carrying our family's values into new places, new fields, and new futures. Susan and I couldn't be prouder.

From College Sweethearts to Weatherford Roots: The Start of Our Family

In 1967, I married Susan, my college sweetheart from Texas Tech, and we moved back to Weatherford to begin our life together.

Susan started teaching at Sam Houston Elementary (now Bill Wright), and I focused on growing our real estate business.

We raised our kids, Matt and Ashley, right here in town, with the same values we were taught: faith, hard work, and love for this community.

From school events to church gatherings and family dinners, our home was always busy.

Today, Susan and I are proud of the thoughtful, hardworking adults they've become – raising families of their own and thriving in their careers.

Weatherford isn't just where we live–it's where our story continues.

"The Day Downtown Weatherford Nearly Went Up In Flames"

April 5, 1980, was an unforgettable day. The old Bowden and Sons department store caught fire near our office on Palo Pinto Street.

Susan, Matt, Ashley, and I were driving back from visiting family and saw the flames from Aledo Hill. For a moment, we all thought downtown Weatherford was on fire.

The fire came very close to our building. Thankfully, the fire department responded quickly and contained the fire, and no other structures were damaged.

Weatherford isn't just where I work; it's also where I live. It's where I've lived, served, and built a life with my family.

Do you remember where you were when this fire happened? Please share in the comments; I would love to know!

"Where It All Began: C.T. and Jim Duncan Real Estate on Palo Pinto Street"

In the early 1960s, my father, C.T. Duncan, started his real estate company. In 1968 after graduating from Texas Tech and finishing military training, I joined him. A few years later I became a partner and the name changed to C.T. and Jim Duncan Real Estate. The office was on Palo Pinto Street in Weatherford. Back then, the town was smaller and quieter, but the dreams were big.

That little office became more than just a workplace. It was where I learned the ropes of business, shook hands with neighbors to build relationships, helped families find their place in Parker County, and leaned into learning how to give back to the community, all the while watching our community grow.

Today, that building serves a different purpose, but those walls are where the legacy began.

Prouldy still serving the community of Parker County today!

"Weatherford Roots, Lifelong Stories–Let's Take a Walk Through My Journey"

Hi friends,
I'm Jim Duncan, and I've been proud to call Weatherford home–and real estate my passion–for over six decades. From working alongside my father to raising a family rooted in Texas values, I've seen this town grow and evolve in extraordinary ways.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing stories from my journey–family milestones, community moments, and insights into the changing real estate landscape. Whether you've known me for years or we're just meeting, I hope you'll follow along.

Let's celebrate the past, embrace the present, and look ahead to what's next
