We love the summer reading program at Weatherford Public Library!! 👍👍

The Weatherford Public Library hosted a Summer Reading kickoff event Thursday at the YMCA as part of its “UnEarth a Story” theme. Children attending the event learned about the life and legacy of Oklahoma native Will Rogers through an interactive presentation led by “Buckaroo Bart” of the Oklahoma Historical Society.

During the program, Buckaroo Bart read from his latest children’s book, which highlights Rogers’ journey from his humble beginnings in Oklahoma to becoming a celebrated Wild West performer and a friend to five U.S. presidents.

Save the date for the Heartland Cruise Car Show!!

The Heartland Cruise Car Show is gearing up to celebrate 36 incredible years in Weatherford, and organizers say this year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest yet. Scheduled for Father’s Day weekend, the show will also celebrate the Route 66 Centennial and America’s 250th anniversary.

Attendees can expect a full weekend packed with great food, family-friendly activities, shopping, entertainment, and an impressive lineup of classic and custom vehicles.

Participants are encouraged to register online in advance to skip the lines and spend more time enjoying the event. Those who register a vehicle by June 1, 2026, will receive a free event T-shirt.

Vendor Update:
Organizers announced that food truck/vendor spots have officially reached capacity and are now on a waiting list.

General vendor spots are also filling quickly, with only a few spaces remaining for:
• Arts & Crafts Vendors
• Non-Profit Organizations
• Boutiques & Small Businesses

Several specialty vendor categories, including lemonade, face painting, and permanent jewelry, have already sold out.

Those interested in being part of one of western Oklahoma’s largest car shows are encouraged to secure their spot soon before vendor registration closes.
