James 4:7–8

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. ❤️🙏🏻

The ALEA Troopers that take great care of Lake Wedowee informed LWPOA that several houses around the lake have buoys outside of the ALEA policy. If these Buoys are not removed by the homeowners they will be removed by the Troopers. LWPOA is trying to spread the word about lake regulations so we can all stay informed.

The Troopers noticed several that houses have the round orange buoys out that are 100 feet from out from their docks. The ALEA policy for Buoys is as follows:

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) (ALEA) and may involve permitting and fees. ALEA is the sole authority for placing regulatory and navigational buoys on public waters. All other buoys, including swim buoys, must adhere to specific guidelines, such as being within 50 feet of the shoreline or 25 feet of a permitted dock and not interfering with boat traffic.

Here is information from Alabama Powers website. https://apcshorelines.com/2022/06/14/swimming-this-summer-keep-these-important-rules-for-swim-buoys-in-mind/

Only the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is authorized to place regulatory, navigational buoys on public waters. All other buoys, per ALEA’s guidance, must adhere to the following:

They must be located no farther than 50 feet from the shoreline or 25 feet from an APC-permitted boat dock/structure.

They must not interfere with the legal flow of boat traffic.

They are not allowed to have the appearance of a state-enforced regulatory marker.

Any buoys not complying with this guidance are subject to removal by ALEA. Thank you for your cooperation.
