There will be a city-wide fire hydrant flushing starting Monday, April 20th, 2026-Downtown Area and Weir Ave.;
Tuesday, April 21st-Kings Creek Bowl and Weircrest;
Wednesday, April 22nd- Marland Hts;
Thursday, April 23rd-Weirton Hts (West of Penco Rd), N. 12th St, Kings Creek Rd, Kingsview Addition, Greentree Rd, Willow Street, Theresa Drive, Cove Valley Estates;
Friday, April 24-Weirton Hts (East of Penco Rd), Culler Rd, Country Club Estates, Woodlawn Estates, Angeline Estates, and Bellaire Addition
During the flush, some areas may experience low pressure, especially in higher elevations. Customers are advised to refrain from doing laundry during the respective times due to the likelihood of iron causing yellowing of clothes.

Water Board Press Release

The Weirton Area Water Board reports that on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, there will be a full shut down of the Weirton Water Treatment Plant. This shutdown must occur in order for aspects of the Water Treatment Plant upgrade to take place. This shutdown will begin at 7:00 a.m. and is estimated to last approximately 6 hours. We encourage all customers to conserve as much as possible during this time. Additional information will be provided as needed. Thanks for your patience and cooperation during this time.
