Field Day Friday: A Community Spotlight. This holiday season give yourself a treat and visit Brenners' Children's Shop in Norwood, MA to step back in time. A legend in the community, Brenner's has been clothing kids from all over suburban Boston for almost a half of a century. They are a local landmark. The business was purchased. for $200.00 back in the late 1970's and has been run by a husband and wife team until last September when Aron Greenfield at 96, a Holocaust survivor, left this world on Rosh Hashanah 2022. HIs wife, Martha, is carrying on both in her personal life and the store they both so loved. Closing on December 24 of this year, do yourself a favor, go visit. Honor Martha with tales of your childhood and the clothing you may have worn from their shop. Give homage to her beloved husband, Aron, whose spirit is felt everywhere in the store. Pay respect to those, like Aron and Martha who not only survived unimaginable circumstances but thrived and lived to tell their astounding histories. You will not regret dropping by to say goodbye. What you learn from their stories will last you a lifetime and long outlive the 49 years of their business, Brenners, Norwood. # Holocaust

Would you ever wonder why one navigates to Compass? Listen to this remarkable success story telling the tale of a boy's journey based on one foundation, his mother. This foundation and the above principles have driven Robert Reffkin from day one and have led Compass to become the number one brokerage in the country.
On the day I joined Compass, he called me to welcome me. Yes, he called me! What CEO and founder does that with a company of over 12,000 real estate agents? Robert Reffkin does.

FIELD DAY FRIDAYS: Our Local Community Spotlight
The History: Part 1 of a Remarkable Story

When an article like this appears in your local Westwood paper one has to read it. How extraordinary a story of a 96 year old Holocaust survivor who is a local businessman in the neighboring town of Norwood. One has to thank Rabbi Karen Citrin of Temple Beth David of Westwood for having the foresight to ask Mr. Greenfield to address eighth-graders from Westwood’s Thurston Middle School to witness the history. A remarkable man. A remarkable life. May we all never forget the bravery, the courage, the perseverance of the human spirit of all of those who sacrificed their blood, their friends, their families, their neighbors, their countries of the World War II era. May all their souls rest in peace and be forever blessed. “Never Again”.

TRANSFORMATIONAL TUESDAY:
Some may say these interiors are "out of style". Some may say "the classics never go out of style". Rembrandts and Renoirs, Brunschwig and Fils, Clarence House, Stark and Persian carpets. Not everyone has the same taste. Not everyone wants all white interiors and no walls. Patina, craftsmanship, things that last centuries. Gilded frames. Solid wood that ages with time like a vintage wine. The House in Good Taste (1913) by Elsie de Wolfe. the Bible of the design business always displayed "timeless interiors". Her clientele included Clay Frick (The Frick Museum, NYC), The Colony Club of NYC, Stanford White (The architect of the 20th century) and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, to name a few. Elsie de Wolfe's motto then, over 100 years ago; simplicity, sustainability, light, airy, comfortable and whimsical interiors. And they included then, much like today, animal print carpet, mirrored walls, indoor trellis's (bringing the outdoor, in). Lauded as "the grand dame of decorating in 1913" and "the best dressed woman in the world in 1935", she was an icon. So were her designs. Timeless. True then. True today. Create the trend. Be the trend. Don't follow it. Nothing Compares.

TESTIMONIAL TUESDAYS: Relationships Matter.
Relationships based upon mutual respect and trust are the hallmarks of the real estate transaction. First and foremost are the relationships one has with one's client, for whom you are aiding in solving their real estate needs. Equally significant are the relationships one has with other real estate professionals. Working with Maura Dolan of Compass, Wellesley, in this transaction was a gift, on all ends. The testimonial that follows confirms just that. Nothing Compares.

TRANSFORMATIONAL TUESDAY: ADDING VALUE
When a former client requests your opinion and designer's eye in creating a new look in her 3 bathrooms, prior to going to market, one jumps at the chance. #1 Family Bath: from mundane to marvelous. Matching porcelain tile on floor and tub walls. Custom built in Shaker cabinet. Square accoutrements (shower head/valves/sink/tub/faucet/mirror and even decorator glass hardware k***s). Topped off by candlesque lighting hung upside down to cast a wider glow. Making the ordinary into the extra ordinary. Adding value to this client as a real estate advisor as well as to their bottom line. Nothing Compares.
