The iconic North Cascades Highway, known as State Route 20, has officially reopened after the latest seasonal opening on record since nineteen seventy four. The road was severely damaged by flooding in December twenty twenty five and a rockslide in March twenty twenty six, forcing a months-long closure that impacted travelers, tourism businesses, and communities throughout Chelan and Okanogan counties in Washington State. Washington State Department of Transportation crews worked around the clock on two emergency repair projects and finished ahead of schedule, reopening the scenic highway on June fourteenth twenty twenty six. The North Cascades Highway connects North Cascades National Park to the Methow Valley and is a critical economic and travel corridor for the entire north central Washington region, including the greater Wenatchee Valley. If you've been wondering when the North Cascades Highway would open in twenty twenty six, the answer is now — and it's open in both directions. Amanda Dallman, your local Wenatchee Realtor.

Okay, let’s talk about the views in this one.

This home has that open, comfortable layout that just feels easy to live in — 9-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, a main living space that flows from the kitchen to the dining area to the living room, and a cozy fireplace that gives the space a little extra warmth.

One thing I really liked is that the primary bedroom is on the main floor, with its own bath, soaking tub, shower, and walk-in closet. The laundry is also right off the kitchen, which is one of those practical details you appreciate when you’re actually living in the home.

And the garage? Oversized, with room for three cars, including tandem parking.

But the views are really what make this one memorable.

Come walk through this one with me — because this home is not your typical cookie-cutter house.

This is a custom-built mid-century home with over 4,400 square feet, three levels, and so many cool original details. The floating stairs, slate floors, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, hallway wet bar, and all the French doors give it so much character.

And the setting is pretty special too. You’re on the largest lot with direct walk-on and cart access to the Country Club, plus you get those peaceful golf course views without being right in the line of golf balls.

There are three bedrooms, a hobby room that could potentially be converted back to a fourth bedroom, multiple living spaces, a cozy den with its own fireplace, a wraparound deck, and lower patio access.

It’s the kind of home that feels private, interesting, and made for people who want something with a little personality.

This home has such an easy, modern feel.

It’s in Swift Springs, which is one of those Wenatchee neighborhoods that feels newer, clean, and kind of tucked away — but still close to everything.

What stood out to me walking through was how simple and livable it feels. Single-level layout, no-step entry, LVP flooring, soft-close cabinets, modern kitchen finishes, and an open main living space that just makes sense.

It has that “better than new” feel without feeling cold or cookie-cutter — just fresh, comfortable, and move-in ready.

WSDOT summer construction near Cashmere is bringing bridge repairs, paving, detours, and lane closures along US 2 near the Wenatchee area. Amanda Dallman, your local Wenatchee Realtor.

Drivers heading between Wenatchee and Leavenworth on US Highway 2 need to plan ahead — a 6.4 million dollar state paving and highway improvement project is now underway on the section of Highway 2 between Cashmere and Peshastin, covering mileposts 104 through 109. Closures and detours began June 15th, 2026, and the work is expected to continue through October. The project scope includes pavement restoration on the highway and interchange ramps, bridge repairs, and signal upgrades. Dryden Avenue and Johnson Road are closed for the duration of initial work, speed is reduced to 45 miles per hour in the construction zone, and the Dryden Transfer Station will be inaccessible from June 29th through July 7th. Four weeks of bridge work are also included, with 24-hour traffic control overnight Sunday through Friday midday. If you live in the Wenatchee Valley or are considering relocating to North Central Washington, knowing these key transportation corridors and infrastructure investments is part of understanding the region's long-term growth and livability. This week, someone created counterfeit checks using my bank account information — and let me tell you, the headache that follows is very real.

I’m sharing this as a reminder to protect yourself. Keep a close eye on your accounts, set up alerts, review transactions regularly, and don’t ignore anything that looks even slightly off.

Fraud can happen fast, and it can happen to anyone. A few extra precautions now can save you a lot of stress later.

When I pulled up to this home, I was surprised it was much nicer then I thought it was going to be.

I recently walked through this one, and it has that kind of character you don’t see every day — mature landscaping, a charming front entry, classic details, and a really warm, lived-in feel throughout.

What I also love is the location. It’s tucked into an established neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown Wenatchee, so you’re close to restaurants, shops, coffee, events, and the heart of town without feeling like you’re right in the middle of everything.
