NEW LAW regarding boats and dock on Lake Hartwell. Share the word.

This week, Gov. McMaster signed the "idle speed distance" bill into law. Act 124 extents the no wake zone on several SC lakes from 50 ft. to 100 ft.🚤

What does this mean?
• Increases the “idle speed distance from docks, etc.” from 50’ to 100’ feet on Lake Greenwood, Lake Hartwell, Lake Jocassee, Lake Keowee, Lake Marion, Lake Monticello, Lake Murray, Lake Robinson, Lake Russell, Lake Secession, Lake Thurmond, Lake Wateree, Fishing Creek Reservoir, Parr Reservoir, and the portion of the Savannah River from the Interstate 20 Savannah River Bridge to the New Savannah River Bluff Lock and Dam. Note: Excludes Lake Moultrie.
• Creates a new prohibition on “wake surfing” within 200’ of a moored vessel, wharf, dock, bulkhead, pier, or person in the water. Wake surfing is defined as “to operate a vessel that is ballasted in the stern so as to create a wake that is, or is intended to be, surfed by another person.

Hartwell Lake is currently looking for outgoing, active couples who would like to work as paid Contract Park Attendants for the 2022-2023 recreation season. Positions are open at the following Hartwell Lake Campgrounds: Springfield and Watsadler. Duties include managing gatehouse, computer operations, and customer service. Attendants are provided a free full hookup campsite.

I'm glad to see The Galley will be back.

To the Galley customers,
We are still underway with our renovations and improvements at The Galley Restaurant and we cannot wait to have you all back in our seats. Furthermore, we would like to announce that Nami Asian Bistro will be combined with the Galley. This means you will still be able to order your sushi bar favorites at the new Nami Sushi Bar at the Galley Restaurant. We hope that you are as excited as we are to have the doors open again at a new and improved Galley Restaurant and we cannot wait to see you all soon!

Camp grounds opening today on Hartwell Lake..

Reopening of campgrounds and additional boat ramps at reservoirs owned and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers along the Savannah River will take place on Friday, May 15 and Monday, May 18.

ATTENTION DOCK OWNERS IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC REGION

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is delaying the implementation of fee increases for in the South Atlantic region while U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters conducts a national review of the shoreline management program fees. The South Atlantic region will continue to operate the current Shoreline Management Program within its existing procedures and fees until further notice.
