As much as I would love to start digging another home or finishing another basement remodel, we are not working during this order and I am staying home...I believe that until we get a viable vaccine, this unprecedented outbreak will not be overcome in a grand sweeping gesture, rather only by the collection of individual choices our community makes in the coming months. For those who are in denial and still taking selfish risks, this virus is unforgiving to unwise choices. My goal in posting this is to prevent my friends from getting ‘sucker-punched’ by what the epidemiological community knows will happen in the coming weeks and encourage everyone to stay at home. It will be easy to be drawn to the idea that what we are doing isn’t working and become complacent, or to ‘cheat’ a little bit in the coming weeks to make life feel normal again, but all of the experts agree about what to do and the information is out there...By knowing what to expect, and advocating the importance of maintaining social distancing, my hope is to keep my friends and family safe, encourage continued community spirit, and do my part to comply with the strategy to end the spread of coronavirus. Everyone's health will always be more important than $$$$!
