A few home improvements can go a long way towards making a favorable impression on potential buyers, and getting your home looking its best doesn’t have to be costly or complicated. Here is a list of recommendations on how to prepare your home NOW to get it show-ready:

✔️ First and foremost – 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗘! Don't start any preparation without talking to a real estate professional. From the correct paint color to essential repairs, I will provide the most cost-effective way to prepare your home for the market.

✔️ Start to clean and declutter. Anything you will not be taking with you to your next location should be disposed of or donated. You want buyers to focus on how awesome your space is, not how messy or dirty it looks.

✔️ Make a list of home repairs or maintenance that you should do before you sell. Call up a handyman or friend and get on their schedule ASAP!

✔️ Unreasonably warm day? Take advantage of it and powerwash the exterior as needed.

✔️ Do a "mini-renovation". Small updates can make a big difference in the overall feel of a room. Kitchen a little outdated? Replace the k***s, light fixtures, faucet, and hinges. This same concept works in bathrooms as well!

Much of our lives are filled with making a living. Working hard is a vital part of life and no matter your profession, a large portion of our days, weeks, months, and years is spent working. Some of us work from home, some from an office, and for others, their job is maintaining their home and raising children. Often, it’s the day-to-day, monotonous routine that causes us to lose sight of the life we are building each and every day.

Let’s make the coming year one that consists of a daily focus on the life we are building. Our ability to help others, even when it’s inconvenient, sympathizing instead of judging, and taking a stand beside other people around us, are some of the ways we can build a life of value.

If the last year has taught us anything, it's the𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. With so many meetings, gatherings and even family holidays turned into virtual events, we've missed out on the sights, the smells, the noise, and the handshakes and hugs. We've missed out on these experiences. Technology just can't replace personal connection.

Similarly, in real estate, so much about home has to do with the "experience." The views, the impact of noise from a busy road, the neighborhood, the smells – all have an effect on the way a house feels. This just doesn't translate into data and algorithms. • Work toward paying down debt (especially high-interest debt such as credit cards)
• Save a little from every paycheck to add to your down-payment
• Check your credit score and credit report
• Budget for expenses beyond your mortgage, and figure out how much you can afford monthly
• Stay in your current job
• Start gathering paperwork you will need to get pre-approved (paystubs or W2, bank statements, etc.)

How we react to the situations in our day-to day life make a great impact on our well-being and those around us.

The following are some simple ideas to encourage each of us to contribute to our local communities.

1. Start Small: The size of the contribution is not what matters most. The key is to have the heart to do it.

2. Start Now: There is no one best time to start to make a difference to the world. You don’t need to wait until you have the time to share some love; you don’t have to wait until you make more money to share a slice of bread. Little efforts count, and you can start making small contributions today.

3. Empower Other People: You can change the world by helping one person at a time. One of the ways to help someone is to empower the person. But how do you empower a person? Well, one of the ways is to be generous in giving praise and encouragement instead of criticism.

4. Lead the Way: Lead by example and doing whatever is within your ability today. Start showing more concern and love to the people around you. Start to make monthly donations to your favorite charity. Start putting more effort in your work to increase the value output. Every effort counts, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem.

It’s never too late. It’s never too late to make a change, design the life you’ve always wanted, or fulfill your childhood dream. It’s never too late to travel across the world, to go back to school, switch careers, or start a family. We must strive to see each day as a new beginning; an opportunity to start something new.

There is no rule – written or unwritten – that says we must remain in a situation that brings us unhappiness or that doesn’t allow us to exercise our passions. So, why not entertain the idea of living your dreams, or living up to your full potential? Why not talk to your family, or your boss, or your friends about what it is you’d really like to be doing? What is there to lose?
