I bet you ask more questions to the waiter when ordering your food than you ask a realtor before buying your home. In the biggest financial transaction of your life, know who is representing you in your purchase.

Don’t skip these questions before hiring a real estate agent.

1. Why should I hire you and what value do you bring in helping me purchase a home?
2. How much do you charge and when would our buyer agreement expire?
3. Which vendors do you refer and why? There’s lenders, attorneys, home insurance, inspectors, contractors and more.
4. What will our relationship be like after we close on a property?
5. Can you give me examples of how you negotiated for previous clients and saved them money?

These are 5 questions that I really enjoy. What else would you ask a realtor before hiring them?

Out-of-state buyers are still making moves into CT 🧳🏡

1 in 5 homes sold over the past year went to someone moving here from another state — with New York leading the pack (no surprise there).

But compared to the peak in 2021, that number’s been steadily dropping… which means more of today’s buyers are local again.

It’s a shift worth watching — especially if you’re buying, selling, or just trying to understand what’s driving demand out here.
