Join us for KidsFit Camp at The Wellness Center.

Dates: October 13 & 14
Time: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Ages: 5–11
Cost: $30 per child/ 1 day or $50/both days
Non-members welcome

Camp includes swimming, fit games, crafts, a healthy snack, and lunch will be provided!

The Computer Science program in the College of Business and Social Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe has received funding from the Cybersecurity Education Management Council of the Louisiana Board of Regents. The grant award of $129,532 will be used for a project titled “AI-Powered Cybersecurity Education to Address the Industry Skills Gap.” The project is led by Dr. Prasanthi Sreekumari, Associate Professor and Accreditation Coordinator for the Computer Science program.

Today’s announcement by Amazon to locate a distribution center in Monroe is transformational in its ability to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in this area. This is a global business that prides itself on operating in local communities like ours.

When I ran for Mayor four years ago, I knew our city needed a revival: an economic, community and spiritual one. And after being elected, in May of 2021 I made a bold commitment that Monroe would soon see a major distribution center locate here.

A huge thank you to the team that worked so hard and for being so responsive to stakeholders and the needs of developers. This is a big win for our city and this is the type of dedication that will ensure continued economic prosperity for our city.

Promise made. And another promise kept.
