Join us tomorrow [Link In Bio]

Benji Power is the Director of Real Estate Development & Social Impact at Procida Development Group, where he leads the firm’s affordable and mixed‑income housing initiatives across Florida. A Miami native and trained urban planner (UPenn C'04 - Urban Studies; MIT '09 - Master in City Planning and Master of Science in Real Estate Development), Benji has deep expertise in impact‑driven real estate and community development, focusing on how the built environment can support advancements in equity, resilience, and long‑term social value.
His career has centered on Miami’s evolving urban landscape, with experience spanning urban planning, community development, construction, and affordable housing work. He has served in government, nonprofit, and private‑sector organizations, developing a holistic understanding of the systems that shape cities.
At Procida, he guides projects that challenge conventional development models, integrating design, policy, and community partnerships to demonstrate how real estate can meaningfully address societal needs. Benji previously served in Miami‑Dade County’s Public Housing department, where he led the County's efforts to leverage public-private partnerships for revitalizing older public housing communities into new, modern mixed-income projects with guaranteed long-term affordability under HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.
Benji lives in the City of Miami with his family. He can often be found cheering on Inter Miami with his wife and kids, exploring the city’s beaches, restaurants, and cultural scenes, and discovering new pockets of Miami’s ever‑evolving neighborhoods.

[Link in BIO or visit Urblandia.com] We’re convening with for an intimate fireside conversation on the future of design—through the lens of longevity, craftsmanship, and material innovation.

Featuring Laura Ruggeri, designer and architect, and Miami Store Director at Luminaire. With over three decades of experience shaped in Milan’s design district—working with brands such as Paola Lenti, Versace, and Giorgetti—Laura brings a unique perspective on how enduring design is conceived, valued, and sustained across generations.

This conversation moves beyond sustainability as a trend.

We’ll explore how collectible design, material innovation, and artisan processes contribute to long-term value—from biodegradable materials and evolving certifications to repair culture and lifecycle thinking.

At its core, this is about a simple idea:
the most sustainable design is the one that lasts.

Limited capacity. Curated group.

LAND & WATER | An Earth Day conversation at The Moore Miami, 4/22. [Link in bio]

The land beneath our buildings and the water surrounding our cities are not just backdrops — they're living systems. On Earth Day, Urblandia brings together a cross-disciplinary panel to ask a question the real estate industry can no longer afford to avoid: what does it actually mean to build in harmony with the natural world?

Land & Water is a candid, solutions-forward conversation about redefining real estate's relationship with the ecosystems it occupies.

Featuring: (Soledad Lowe Studio) and (Seaworthy Collective)

Chris Houck is a licensed architect in Florida, New York, and New Jersey, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He holds a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The College of William and Mary graduating magna cm laude. Prior to establishing his firm, Chris was an associate at Belmont Freeman Architects in New York.

Chris Houck Architect is an architectural office that brings expertise to residential and commercial projects. CHA is a service driven practice committed to collaboration with clients to achieve their project goals, an approach that strives to discover full project potential and an end result finely crafted to the user’s needs.

CHA prides itself on its practical approach to architecture. Of course, every project has a myriad of demands, interesting or otherwise, that must be met. And if the effort and expense is to be taken to accomplish these things, they should be done so in a careful, elegant, and beautiful way.

Chris Houck Architect recognizes building is not a practice of limitless resources, whether financial, environmental, or temporal. Simply put, CHA’s aim is to do the most with the least, an aim towards design that is environmentally responsible as well as economical both in means and aesthetic.

Jaya Kader, AIA, LEED AP, is the founder and principal of KZ Architecture, a Miami-based design studio committed to excellence and sustainable practices since 2003. A recipient of numerous design awards, including AIA, her leadership produced Miami’s first LEED-certified home in 2010 and recognition as a winner of the World Bank and UN-Habitat’s Resilient Home Challenge in 2018.

Jaya’s lifelong advocacy for sustainability has expanded into Regen Design Lab (RDL), where she brings an entrepreneurial spirit to architecture, approaching each project as a catalyst for healing and transformation. Rather than focusing solely on the built form, RDL is rooted in the belief that design can help shift culture toward greater reverence for nature, deeper human connection, and regenerative ways of living. Jaya’s vision is to harness beauty, innovation, and collaboration across disciplines to spark systemic change—using architecture not just to create buildings, but to contribute to the urgent healing of our environment, communities, and collective future.

A graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Jaya served on its Alumni Council from 2016 to 2022 and co-launched DESIGN IMPACT in 2020, a global leadership series at the intersection of design, health, equity, and climate change. A mother of four and certified yoga teacher, she weaves feminine energy, ancient wisdom, and regenerative principles into all her work.
