Home Inspection Tip #3. A General Home Inspection will almost always include looking into the attic spaces (when it is safe to do so). In this portion of the inspection we look for tell tale signs of water pe*******on from the roof, proper amounts of insulation, wiring defects, proper roof support structures and proper HVAC duct support. Here is a recent pic of a main air supply duct that was completely disconnected… no wonder the house was not cooling. The problem was reported and recommended that a HVAC specialist correct the problem.

Home Inspection Tip #2. A Roof inspection is always a part of our General Home Inspections. A recent inspection revealed a deteriorating chimney in need of repair before it causes water intrusion into the structure and thereby causing $$ in repair bills. In the second picture standing water in the gutter system is a sign of an improperly slopped gutter. Standing water may eventual cause corrosion & leaks, mosquito infestation or even the growth of plants and seedlings.

Home Inspection Tips: While trees, plants, vines and bushes can really beautify a property, one must remember plants hold moisture and that moisture can be transferred to your structure, especially if that structure is wood. Overtime those beautiful plants and bushes can cause wood rot and deterioration of your structure. So remember to keep your vegetation trimmed back as not to touch your beautiful home investment.
