This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week and it will include a Statewide Tornado Drill at 10am Wed the 26th. Sirens will be tested at this time. It's only a test but you are encouraged to use this time to practice your plan for taking shelter.

1. Stay Informed:
Listen to local news or NOAA Weather Radio: Stay updated on tornado watches and warnings.
Follow official social media accounts: Ready.gov and local authorities for emergency information.
2. Find a Safe Location:
Go to the lowest level: If possible, move to the first floor.
Seek a small interior room: Bathrooms, closets, or interior hallways are good choices.
Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls: These are the most vulnerable areas.
3. Protect Yourself:
Crouch low to the floor: Get as low as possible and face down.
Cover your head with your hands: Protect yourself from flying debris.
Use thick padding: If possible, cover yourself with a mattress, blankets, or pillows.
Consider a helmet: A helmet can offer some protection against head injury.
