Originally from Hawaii, Gwen left for the mainland at 18 to attend the University of Washington where she met her husband. His career as a physician eventually let them to the midwest and Des Moines where they raised three children. They have a son in the Navy, a daughter attendingTCU and a son who is a senior at Valley High School. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis, reading, skiing or dirt biking with her family. She is also a part of a local bowling team and volunteers at Camp Hertko Hollow, a camp for kids with diabetes.
