I put an Alexa (an Echo Show 15) in my mom’s new home not to watch over her, but to help her keep the life she loves — photos of the grandkids, music on demand, easy video calls and gentle reminders. Start small, let them learn at their pace: we began with photos and music, then added automatic answered calls, a bathroom speaker for safety, calendar reminders and a smart thermostat. Little tech moves like these gave my family big peace of mind and helped Mom keep her independence.
