One of the more difficult conversations during downsizing is helping families understand that many household items no longer carry the resale value they once did.

Formal dining sets, large entertainment centers, oversized furniture, china cabinets… often the demand simply isn’t there anymore.

And honestly, that can feel emotional. These pieces usually represent years of memories, holidays, raising families, and important chapters of life.

But downsizing becomes much less overwhelming when we separate the memory from the object. 💛

The question shifts from:

Central Ohio’s housing market remained steady in April, with home values rising and inventory increasing even as sales slowed. The Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS reported 2,202 closed sales in April, down 13.6% from last year, while year-to-date closings are down just 4.2%.

“We have more homes on the market, and buyers are taking a little more time to decide,” said Columbus REALTORS® President Gloria Alonso Cannon. “That’s not a bad thing — it means consumers are being thoughtful and intentional.”
