Homebuyer Plus “Homebuyer Saving Plan for Ohioans”

The Homebuyer plus saving program is essentially a savings account where you can save money for your downpayment and closing cost for up to 5 years.

Some Key Benefits:
🔑 have access to earn above-market interest rate on the tax-advantaged saving account with participating credit unions and banks.
🔑 may also qualify for certain Ohio state income tax deductions.
🔑 cannot be used for investment purposes must be used for a primary residence.

The challenges of affordability, low inventory, coupled with rising interest rates (even with talks of possible rate reductions in the future), are common concerns in the real estate market, including Central Ohio.

Remember, while the current challenges are significant, the real estate market is cyclical, and conditions can change. There still are homes available under $250K in Central Ohio!

Interested in what your new property value is estimated at under the Franklin County's 2023 mass reappraisal. I have provided the link to see the tentative value. Once on the page, select the red box "take me to my tentative property value". Once there, provide the requested information and you will see an estimated new tentative property value, your current property taxes, along with an estimated low and high of where the new property taxes are estimated to fall within.

Please prepare yourself for the increase which is estimated to increase around December 2023.
