The iconic Chicago-area “Home Alone” house officially has new owners, Mansion Global has learned.
The traditional red brick house in Winnetka, Illinois, closed on Thursday for $5.5 million, slightly over its asking price of $5.25 million. The home was listed for sale in May of last year and found a buyer within a week of hitting the market, though it took more than seven months for the sale to be final.
“There was an agreement that the sellers would love the opportunity to remain in the home for one more holiday season,” the buyers’ agent Lori Nieman of Christie’s International Real Estate told Mansion Global.
