Mario Arakelian, General Manager of the newly opened Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays, will be the Westhampton Rotary Club’s featured dinner speaker on Tuesday, January 24th, at 6 p.m. at Joe’s Grill in Westhampton Beach. He will speak about the transformation of this historic landmark which has roots dating back to 1697.

Prior to joining the Canoe Place Inn, Mr. Arakelian held the position of General Manager at Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor. He began his hotel career with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and within a 10-year span worked at its properties in Beverly Hills, Miami and London at Park Lane. He has also managed his family’s upscale Mediterranean Restaurant in Manhattan for 6 years, prior to moving to the East End in 2019.
He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in Hotel Administration and earned his Hospitality Diploma at a Hotel School in Switzerland.

The Canoe Place Inn has a significant historical importance to the Town of Southampton and now it has been reimagined by Long Island developers Mitchell and Gregg Rechler of Rechler Equity Partners. The Rechlers are the developers of The Hampton Business District, a 50-acre mixed-use park in Westhampton Beach.
