Most homes are more than just a transaction. They hold entire chapters of a family’s story. ❤️

Bert and Estelle Wouters met at a dance, immigrated to the United States from Belgium in 1959, and went on to share 63 years of marriage.

In 2015, they purchased their home at 20184 Village 20 in Leisure Village, ready to slow things down, enjoy single-story living, and make this next chapter their own.

Bert was incredibly organized and methodical, and with Estelle being a bookkeeper, I have a feeling there wasn’t much that slipped through the cracks in the Wouters household. 😉 Apparently those genes are strong, because I couldn’t help but see those same qualities in their daughter Tania, a dear friend of mine, as we worked together on the sale of her parents’ home.

Bert was also a published author. His historical novel, Madonna on the Bridge, is set during World War II and follows a courageous young Circassian woman caught up in the resistance. If historical fiction and WWII stories are your thing, it’s a fascinating story and still available for purchase.

Now, after 11 years, 20184 Village 20 has officially closed and is ready to become part of another family’s story.

It was very special to be trusted by my dear friend Tania with this chapter of her family’s history. And since today happens to be her birthday, it seems like the perfect day to share it. ❤️
